worship
We are an Anglo-Catholic parish church: traditional yet relevant to current human experience; reverent but not stuffy; appreciative of mystery, and also clear about God's love for all people.
The liturgy — the words and actions handed down to us by the Church over its history — is important to us. It holds and sustains us in its beauty and familiarity, and is not dependent upon the mood or personality of the Priest or those who participate.
You are very welcome to all our services. If you're new, do introduce yourself. If you don't understand something, just ask.
Mass
The Eucharist is at the heart of our worship at St Philip's. Our main service is our Parish Mass at 10:00 am every Sunday — our chance to come together as a community to learn, worship, and connect in Word and Sacrament.
We also hold a midweek Said Mass every Thursday at 10:00 am — a quieter service where you might find some necessary mid-week peace.
prayer
Daily prayer sustains everything we do. We say Morning Prayer together in church on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 9:30 am. The service sheet can be found via the Common Worship daily prayer page.
Our chapel is open daily during term time, 9:30 am – 3:00 pm. Come and rest. Come and be. No fuss. No judgement.
The Church of England also has a daily prayer app so you can join in from home.
If you'd like to send a prayer request — anonymously or not — please use the form below. If you'd like to speak with Mother Helen, include your name and email.

Bubble church
First Sunday of each month, 11:30 AMBubble Church is our Sunday service designed especially for babies, toddlers and young families in Avondale Square and the wider community. Families arrive 10 minutes early for a coffee, tea and croissant before joining a "Bubble" for 30 minutes of songs with actions, storytelling, puppets and prayer — a relaxed, playful introduction to faith for little ones.
Come you who have much faith and you who have none.
You who have been often and you who have never been at all.
You who have tried to follow and you who think you have failed.
Come, not because we invite you, but because Jesus does.
It is his will that those who want him will meet him here.
